Director Ash Cook

Mr. Ash Cook has been dancing since the age of 18. He began his dancing career at San Jacinto Community College South under the direction of Dr. Suzanne Oliver. While at San Jacinto South, Ash Cook completed all levels of Ballet and Modern dance, Jazz, Tap, Improvisation, Choreography, Dance History, and Concert classes. He was a member and officer of the Dance Guild, and a featured choreographer for many semesters. Mr. Cook received his Associate of Arts in Dance from San Jacinto College in May of 2013. He spent time at Sam Houston State University as a dance major, receiving instruction from a variety of professors including, Dana Nicolay, Jenifer Pontius, Jonathan Charles, Kista Tucker, and Melissa Wynn. While at SHSU, he performed in Dance Spectrum, the concert company group for the dance department. Mr. Cook also spent his free time participating in Fade to Black, a hip hop group on campus, and with Chi Tau Epsilon, the dance sorority on campus. Ash Cook returned home and continued his education at University of Houston, Clear Lake. While here, he was a Fitness and Human Performance major, receiving a Bachelor of Science in December 2014. While at UHCL, he served as a member and officer for The National Society of Leadership and Success and the Exercise Science and Health Honor Society.  Mr. Cook has recently graduated in Spring 2021 with a Masters of Science in Counseling.

Mr. Cook has been instructing dancers in and around the Houston area since 2005. Ash spent most of his time with Dance Expressions LLC in Friendswood, Texas, and has had the pleasure of working with studios including, SoReal, JDF Elite, Axis Dance Studio, Twin Arts Dance Studio, Dance Productions, Star Steppers, and Starlight Dance Studio. While at these studios, he taught classes that were in the disciplines of Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Lyrical, Contemporary, and Drill Team Technique along with choreographing solos and group dances for studio and drill team competitions. Mr. Ash Cook has been recognized for his choreography at many competitions, including Crowd Pleasers, Hall of Fame, Nexstar, and many others.

He also was able to live out one of his dreams by performing with The Woodlands Ballet as the Russian soloist in their version of The Nutcracker. Mr. Cook lives in the Pasadena area with his fur children, Cosmo, Harlee, Stormy, and Windy.

He feels blessed to spend another year with The Celebrity Dance Team and Clear Brook High School.
